Due to Covid-19/corona virus threat, the Pioneer Reunion schedule has been modified. This was a very tough decision made by the Nine-Man Board with consultation from the local officials. The number one concern is the Pioneers, visitors, and other citizens of Clay County. The board has tentatively decided to hold the Rodeo as planned; however, with regret the parade, traditional in-person pioneer feed and other events have been cancelled. All planned events are subject to change as conditions warrant. The safety of the Pioneers is of utmost importance, the registration of pioneers and pioneer feed will be held at the Rodeo Grounds and is planned to be a drive through only event. Pioneers at registration will be given their book, button and then a takeout barbecue meal. Persons currently serving as the Pioneer Officials, the Pioneer Queen and attendants will continue to serve until the next regular Pioneer Reunion.
The Nine-Man Board thanks everyone for their continued support and especially during this pandemic and unprecedented time. The people of Clay County and faithful supporters are what will keep the tradition of our Reunion and Rodeo the best celebration of its kind in Texas! The Association looks forward to bringing back the traditions of Clay County in 2021. We are all CLAY COUNTY STRONG AND PROUD! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us at 940-538-5111.
